- Changes Made In The Faculty Of Home Science To Attain The Status Of Professional Program:
- Specialization in Undergraduate Program: The U.G Program was thoroughly revamped and replaced 3 year with 4 year degree program in 2000.Specialization at U.G. level in all disciplines was introduced to provide entrepreneurship qualities, hands on experience and skill based knowledge to students.
- Internship: Students are placed in the related industry/ Institute which felicitate employment opportunity.
- Rural Home Science Work Experience Program: Helps to develop human resources in the rural sector with a focus on women development. This program helps students to understand the potential problems & constraints of the community.
- P. G. Programs: The Faculty offers Masters as well as PhD programs in all disciplines. Inter Faculty Master’s degree Program in Food Science & Technology: Introduced this program by drawing up on the academic strength of the three faculties i.e., Agriculture, Veterinary& Home Science as an integrated inter Faculty Program.
- Center Of Advanced Studies (Foods & Nutrition): In view of the out standing quality of work carried out by the F&N Dept. it was elevated to the status of Centre Of Advanced Studies (CAS) by ICAR in 1994, the first of its kind in all the state Agricultural Universities in India.CAS serves as National Resource & Training Centre in The Field Of Nutrition.
- Nodal Agency: The Department of Resource Management and Consumer Sciences has been recognized as a NODAL Agency by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food And Civil Supplies, Govt. Of A.P. In the year 2003 which is a prestigious offer.
- Skill Oriented Short Term Certificate Courses To Provide Entrepreneurship: Number of various Short term programs are being offered to school drop outs, NGOs, A.P. Tribal welfare schools, Self help groups.
- Diploma Programmes: One year U.G. as well as P.G. Diploma Programmes is being in operation to help the needy.
